Between “the Long Song” and now, I read……………….
“The Snowman” – Jo Nesbo – worth a read, a good thriller set in Norway. It is action packed, with murders, a serial killer, an Heroic detective with character flaws but likeable and honest, with lots of twists and surprises.
“Worth Dying For” – Lee Child – a fun read, much larger than life hero who would give Dirty Harry and Chuck Norris a serious run for their money. He drifts in, sorts out the “baddies” and drifts on, never asking for aything in return.
Both of these are good holiday/ beach reads where you are not required to think a lot or concentrate too much on literary prowess.
And now I have set off on a reading journey which will occupy me for some time. I have begun the sequel to “Pillars of the Earth” which I read 19 years ago…...” World Without End”.….. it is set in the 14th Century, 200 years later.
So far so good, it is an entertaining read and refers back to much that happened in “Pillars of the Earth” in the building of the Cathederal and the town of Kingsbridge.
