Friday Favourites.

Today I am feeling a bit rhythmically disjointed and so my choice is from the Abstract Expressionists.

Mark Tobey’s rhythmical calligraphical marks.

Jackson Pollock’s compelling paint rhythms.

The subtle rhythmical juxtaposition of Mark Rothko’s colours.

Kandinsky’s disjointed rhythms of colour and line.

and, just because I love his work so much…..

At a certain moment the canvas began to appear to one American painter after another as an arena in which to act. What was to go on the canvas was not a picture but an event.
