Friday Favourites.

Alexander Calder’s wonderful kinetic sculptures with their glorious  punctuations of colour.

An unusual Piet Mondrian, with informality, gentle tones and subtle colour.

Joan Miro’s inspired use of line and colour.

Wassily Kandinsky’s geometric precession and masterful use of colour and tone.

When I was younger I did not appreciate the works by these artists and looked on them as somewhat pretentious and obscure. But as I have matured as an observer, I began to understand the  reasoning,  thought and development of each artist and now I really enjoy the works and love the feelings they engender in me.

(I have to admit that I really love Joan Miro’s work best of all!)
