Friday Favourites.

I thought it was time for the much ignored ‘Landscape’ painting to have a showing. There is so much wonderful classic work that it is hard to select just a few. I have selected an odd assortment, two Englishmen, two Dutchmen, a Frenchman and a South African.

Turner’s wild, tumultuous, atmospheric painting.

The pastoral serenity of a Constable.

The brooding majesty of a Rembrandt.

Van Gogh‘s voluptuous riot of colour.

The calm geometrical precession of Cezanne.

and…

The glorious grandeur of the African landscape rendered with order, and a monumental like formality  by Pierneef.

I hope you have enjoyed this random little sampling of Landscape painting.

Have a really great weekend.
