There is nothing I love so much as fossicking, wandering along a shoreline searching for bits of sea glass, pottery, shells and sundry bits of flotsam and jetsam.
We have a favourite camping place on the Eastern Cape Coast. A rather treacherous coastline where many an early sailing vessel met her doom. On this particular beach you will find Ming pottery shards, trading cowries and carnelian beads all thought to be from the Santo Espirito wrecked somewhere in the vicinity in 1608.
As I sit here with the prospect of Monday Morning Chores my mind wanders off to a sunny beach, sparkling water and treasure underfoot. I think I need a Wild Coast escape!
