Friday Favourites disguised as Saturday’s Selection

While thinking of what a Saturday represents I  came up with the word “repose”

re·posen

1. The act of resting or the state of being at rest.
2. Freedom from worry; peace of mind.
3. Calmness; tranquillity.
When researching paintings to represent “repose” I was presented with a gallery full of reposeful women, it  seems to me as if men find it extremely hard to find themselves in a  reposeful state.
I herewith present…………. “repose” act one, the Classics.
Manet,_Edouard_-_Olympia,_1863
reclining venus Jacopo Palma.
What I find fascinating, other than the distinct lack of reposeful men, is the fact that ladies all reposed naked.
